About Us
Our Story
Building and Construction Advisory was founded out of a shared vision among friends who recognized the challenges and fragmentation within the Construction Industry. We were driven by a collective desire to create meaningful change that would elevate the industry and improve outcomes for all stakeholders. In today’s construction climate, it’s common to see stakeholders—be it clients or contractors—grappling with risks that often seem insurmountable. These challenges can lead to strained relationships and project inefficiencies. At Building and Construction Advisory, we bring a wealth of experience and deep industry knowledge to the table, providing tailored guidance that helps both clients and contractors navigate these complexities with confidence.
Our Director's
James Matthews
James started his career in construction as an Apprentice Carpenter, where he was exposed to all facets of Domestic building. He was fortunate enough to be exposed to projects from start to finish, where the seed was planted for his desire to bring clients dreams into fruition. Since that time, James has held roles as Site Supervisor to Site Manager, Project Manager to Operations Manager, within Building Companies and as a Consultant.
Outside of work, James is a dedicated family man and martial arts enthusiast. A father of 3 girls, James often laughs when his daughters recount that his lack of hair is due to having donated it to them. His commitment to helping others is further substantiated through his role as Coach at South East BJJ, imparting years of knowledge that saw him achieve titles across Australia, and in recent times his Black Belt.
James draws inspiration from various life experiences to demonstrate the characteristics of strong leadership. He challenges the people around him to want more for themselves and constantly looks for ways to help them achieve it.

Yuki Yokouchi
Yuki has built his career on foundation of deep understanding of the built environment. His background spanning architecture, design, and project management has seen him lead complex projects across various sectors to success. Yuki's ability to balance project shareholders, objectives and outcomes has seen him thrive in roles previously as Operations Manager, Project Manager, and General Manager.
Yuki's previous experience within the retail sector, working within Shopping Centre's across Melbourne and completing varying CapEx works, gives him a unique perspective to project lifecycle, including end user experience and practical approaches to maintenance.
A loving father and husband, Yuki enjoys spending time with his family on weekends and imparting his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills to his eager children. A seasoned Black Belt, Yuki brings the same commitment to each project with equal passion.
Yuki recognises that every stakeholder plays a crucial role in a project's success, and achieving shared goals depends on the effective performance of key contributors. With a strong focus on empathy and collaboration, he is often found mentoring stakeholders, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless project execution and optimal outcomes.
